Nichol Chiarella is the firm's Tax Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Leader and has around two decades of experience in public accounting. She provides high-level tax planning and consulting services related to buy-side, sell-side, and restructuring transactions involving private equity firms, closely-held businesses, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals within the technology, manufacturing and distribution, wholesale, retail, cannabis, health care, real estate, staffing, and professional services industries. Additionally, Nichol is one of the co-leaders of the firm’s Cannabis Advisory Services industry group.

In the areas of business and individual tax, Nichol handles matters for private equity funds, limited liability companies (LLCs), domestic partnerships, corporations, and S corporations. With a specialization in business consulting, Nichol assists businesses with entity selection and structuring, as well as advising them during acquisitions and sales of their business. She often works with clients from the inception of their business to point of exit.

Nichol is the firm’s global leader of its gender equality, diversity, and inclusion mission, which she recently rebranded as CC EDGE (Empowering Diversity and Gender Equality). In this role, she interfaces regularly with all CC EDGE leads in each of Citrin Cooperman's offices, both domestically and in India.
